Philanthropy at PPD
We Do the Right Thing
At PPD, we are committed to helping to improve the health and lives of people around the world. Our integrity defines us, and our employees’ daily work and their efforts outside of the office demonstrates it. As a company, our philanthropic giving and community outreach philosophy is simple: we invest our volunteering and funding resources into organizations that lead the way in contributing to develop healthier and thriving communities.
Our employees are at the heart of our efforts. With every dollar that PPD donates, we ensure there is an opportunity for employees to volunteer and engage within their local communities. The passion and goodwill exemplified by our teams around the globe are not just beneficial to the surrounding communities, but also create a culture of collaboration within the workplace.
Below are just a few examples of the philanthropic initiatives our employees have contributed to.
Melbourne employees show team spirit while raising money to fight cancer
PPD employees based in Melbourne, Australia, recently showed their team spirit while raising money for the fight against cancer by participating in Footy Colours Day, a national event.
During the event, people across Australia wear the colors of their favorite soccer (or "footy") team to help raise money for cancer charities.
The money raised from PPD's event will be put toward funding local school access for children receiving treatment during their hospital stays. A teacher on-site at the hospital partners with the child’s regular teacher to determine the best way to transition the child back into the classroom following treatment, and allows for the child to participate in classroom learning via Skype.
Employees support Homes of Hope India and Axilium Navajeevana
Donations to orphanages in Benglaru, India helped a group of PPD colleagues better understand the Hindi phrase “navajeevana,” by teaching them how a simple donation can change a life.
"We now really comprehend the meaning of “navajeevana,” which in Hindi means ‘new life,’ and was embodied by these children who were saved from really bad situations," said Rollince Peter, senior manager of human resources. "We all left that day feeling great that we were able to be part of such an amazing program with PPD."
PPD has been a strong supporter for many years of Homes of Hope India. Auxilium Navajeevana, founded in 1995, is a non-government organization dedicated to transforming the lives of orphan girls. PPD employees in India visited the orphanage for the day, meeting the girls and representatives from the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, which administers the programs.
At PPD, we don’t just talk about making a difference, we put our expertise, passion and time behind our work and the causes we support. Learn more about PPD’s philanthropy and community affairs initiatives and join a culture dedicated to making an impact on the health of people around the world.
